Where does one start?
This time last season the two clubs most people expected to be front runners for the title were Chelsea and City. And I suspect most fans - irrespective of their allegiance - would concur with that train of thought. But how wrong could everyone have been. Not only did the two favourites fail miserably, the title was won by a team who had just escaped relegation the previous term, namely Leicester City. Probably one of the biggest shocks in English football -...Read Full Post »

Putting together a blog or two this season has been hard work hence the absence of such. My excuse has been quite simply a case of when things get better. The season has been one of shear frustration in many respects. Too many indifferent performances coupled with some proper disappointing results along the way.

It's here, Run in blog 8 as we reach the season’s finale. City v Southampton at home as we close the door on 2014/15. City will want to get as many points as possible and continue their winning run and of course Southampton will want to ensure Europa League qualification. If Arsenal win the FA Cup next week, Southampton qualify irrespective of how the game at the Etihad finishes but they won’t want...Read Full Post »

The latest episode in the Blue Moon Rising story is coming to a close as we face our penultimate game, an away trip to the valleys of Wales on Sunday. A game that we had fervently hoped would have proved to be a step closer to another Premier League title win as was last season’s final away game at Everton. However, that's not the case this time round and we've got to take it on the chin and without being acc...Read Full Post »

It's often said that you should be careful what you wish for. In my previous blog before last weeks game v Spurs I wished for another 3 points as we had done against Villa the week before but with an improved performance. And I'm absolutely delighted to say that we got the three points and we saw a better performance – not right across the board but in different aspects in comparison to previous disp...Read Full Post »

TIME TO WIN IN STYLE
It's that time again, another game another blog and here's hoping for a similar result to that against Villa last week but with an improved performance. Last week’s game against Villa was probably one of our worst displays of the season. The only real positive to come out of that result was that we moved back into 2nd place leap frogging both United and Arsenal.
Pellegrini has ...Read Full Post »

At last, the opportunity to write a blog that has some positives to go at. Following on from last week’s win over the Hammers and the precious 3 points we collected we can hopefully face our next opponents in our second home game of the week to collect a further three points. They may not be three points that guide us to another title but it might just allow us the chance to either stay within a po...Read Full Post »

Well its run-in blog no 3 and I really wish that I was writing this with City in a better position than we currently find ourselves in. When I wrote pre Palace I still believed the title was there for the taking. OK it would have required Chelsea to do a Devon Loch but you have to hope for the best and fear the worst. And fear the worst was the winner. Defeats in two of our Cup Finals have totally ruined a...Read Full Post »

Prior to the Crystal Palace game I put together a last minute blog that concentrated on our ill’s and current form and stressing that the remaining 8 games were ‘cup finals’ that all had to be won to give us any chance of winning our first back-to-back title. Unfortunately cup final no 1 was lost!!
The Selhurst submission was a disastrous result that left us stuck in fourth place – and...Read Full Post »

The reality of City’s recent poor form and disappointing run of results was put into perspective on Easter Saturday as we were overtaken by both Arsenal and United - yes United - in the league as we were pushed into 4th place. This scenario wasn’t totally unexpected but it didn’t make it any easier to stomach.
City’s form has come in for much scrutiny this season and we would ...Read Full Post »
